Jon Huntsman

The centrist political organization No Labels was borne, fittingly, out of a collaboration among Democratic fundraiser Nancy Jacobson (Mark Penn's wife!), former George W. Bush political advisor Mark McKinnon and former Pete Peterson associate David Walker. Inspired by a motto of "Stop Fighting, Start Fixing," the group focuses on gestures of congressional collegiality, including monthly breakfasts and bipartisan seating at the State of the Union speech. Now you might think that with Third Way, the New Democrats, No Labels, etc., we have too many centrist think tanks and political organizations. Nonsense! You can never have enough promotion of entitlement reform and international trade agreements.

Founded: 2010

Notable Figures (Past and Present): Former Utah governor and 2012 Republican presidential aspirant Jon Huntsman (left); Joe Manchin, Democratic senator from West Virginia; Sean Duffy, Republican congressman and former Real World cast member.

Achievements: Earned praise from Ezra Klein. Got Mike Bloomberg, Evan Bayh, and Villagers David Brooks and David Gergen to speak at their launch event. Promoted presidential "fast track" authority to minimize debate over Village-favored initiatives like the Simpson-Bowles deficit reduction plan.
